A Red Mountain Ranch couple was in the middle of a remodel and overwhelmed by decisions. MetroPrime handled the wall color, the painting, and the drywall and stucco repairs the remodel created, and went on to paint two more nearby homes.
Mike and Valerie's Red Mountain Ranch home was in the messy middle of a remodel. New cabinets and countertops were going into the kitchen, decisions were stacking up, and Valerie felt overwhelmed by everything it took to pull the space together. Mike just wanted the project moving. What they needed was not one more thing to manage. They needed a painting crew that could handle the painting and the repairs a remodel kicks up, and work around everything else going on in the house.
The Hard Part of a Remodel Is the Middle
A remodel rarely stops at new cabinets and counters. Pulling out old canister lights leaves holes in the ceiling. Moving a kitchen hood vent opens up drywall inside and stucco outside. Walls, ceilings, and trim across an open floor plan all have to end up looking like one finished space instead of a patchwork of touch-ups.
Mike and Valerie needed those loose ends handled by one crew that would coordinate around the rest of the remodel, not add to it. That is where MetroPrime came in.
One Color Across the Main Living Space
The great room and kitchen were a single open area with high ceilings, and the office opened right off of it. All three spaces would share one wall color, so it had to work with the new cabinets and countertops and carry cleanly through the connected rooms.
MetroPrime helped Mike and Valerie narrow the options and settle on Manchester Tan, HC-81, a Benjamin Moore color matched into Dunn-Edwards EVEREST. The walls got two coats in a Velvet finish. The high ceilings were coated with Dunn-Edwards SUPER-WALL RTU, and the five-inch baseboards and seven-inch crown molding were finished in Dunn-Edwards DECOGLO. One color ran through all three rooms while the rest of the remodel continued around them.
Ceiling Repairs That Disappear
As the work went on, nine canister lights came out of the ceiling and left nine openings behind. MetroPrime patched them over a two-day process and matched the surrounding texture. Once the ceiling was repainted, there was no sign of where the old lights had been.
One Vent Change, Repairs Inside and Out
The kitchen hood vent needed to move. MetroPrime relocated it, sealed the old duct opening, and then patched, textured, primed, and painted the drywall inside and the stucco outside. A few approved additions came up along the way, including three smaller drywall holes, one larger opening, and replacement drywall around the backsplash. The change ended up invisible on both sides of the wall.
The Result, and Why They Kept Calling
The great room, kitchen, and office came out as one consistent, finished space that works with the new cabinets and countertops. The ceiling patches, the relocated vent, and the interior and exterior repairs all blended in. For Mike and Valerie, the overwhelming part of the remodel got quieter, and a pile of loose ends got handled by one crew they did not have to manage.
That is the part that mattered most. Good work on the first project turned into more work as the remodel developed, and MetroPrime, a Mesa painting contractor, kept taking care of it. The trust reached past this house, too. Later in 2025, Mike brought MetroPrime back for exterior painting and stucco repair on a nearby rental he was getting ready to sell. A neighbor who saw the crew working there had his own home painted next. One color decision, handled well, is where all of it started.
What the Homeowner Said:
"Once again, Michael earns himself a 5 star review. He's worked for me before and I can say that without question, his attention to detail and strong work ethic produce an excellent result at reasonable prices."

Frequently Asked Questions
Can MetroPrime help choose a wall color around new cabinets and countertops?
Yes. A wall color works best when it is chosen alongside permanent finishes like cabinets, countertops, and flooring. MetroPrime helped Mike and Valerie land on Manchester Tan for their great room, kitchen, and office while the new cabinets and countertops were going in.
Can drywall repairs be handled as part of an interior painting project?
Yes. Defined drywall and texture repairs can be coordinated with the painting. This project included two ceiling patches and nine openings left by removed canister lights, all matched to the surrounding texture before repainting.
Can one remodel change create repairs both inside and outside the home?
Yes. Relocating the kitchen hood vent affected both interior drywall and exterior stucco. MetroPrime repaired, textured, primed, and painted both sides so the change blended in.
Can you paint while we are still living in the home during a remodel?
Yes. This was an occupied home in the middle of an active remodel. The painting and repairs were carried out as the rest of the project continued around them.
